American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA CST) with CVOR experience for a 13-week travel assignment at a Level I trauma teaching hospital.

Hospital-based CVOR position within Surgical Services
-
4x10-hour day shifts scheduled 0645-1715 with variable days
-
Cardiac call required
-
Floats to Main OR when CVOR case volume is low (integrated OR)
-
May float to an affiliate ambulatory sister site if needed
-
Epic EMR experience required
-
Level I trauma center setting
-
Minimum of 2 years of surgical technology experience required
-
NBSTSA CST certification required
-
BLS certification (AHA, traditional format only; RQI not accepted)
-
Successful completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program
-
Level I trauma experience required
-
Teaching hospital experience preferred
-
Epic charting system experience required
-
Excellent communication, listening, and teamwork skills required
-
Ability to prioritize and adapt in stressful or emergent situations
-
Physical ability to stand and walk up to 10 hours per day, lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds, and perform frequent bending, reaching, and twisting

License required if applicable

Ensure a safe OR environment through proper equipment cleaning, function checks, and sterile/aseptic technique
-
Combine knowledge of human anatomy and surgical procedures to safely facilitate invasive and diagnostic procedures
-
Provide fundamental patient comfort, safety, privacy, and respect in the perioperative setting
-
Manage time effectively to complete caseloads and OR turnovers within established timelines
-
Respond appropriately and calmly during emergent or code situations
-
Embrace core hospital values including accountability, collaboration, communication, diversity, integrity, respect, and teamwork

COVID vaccination proof required with no exemptions accepted
-
Background checks are comprehensive and lifetime in scope; no background or license issues accepted

Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restriction

Returning staff must have a break in service of 6 or more months to be eligible for rehire as a traveler
-
Upfront RTO must be requested at time of submission and cannot exceed 2 weeks

Refusal to float as required may result in contract cancellation
