Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across various commercial and industrial settings. Your expertise will ensure that all electrical work complies with safety standards and local electrical codes, including NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code). Duties
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in commercial and industrial environments using electrical schematics and blueprints.
- Perform high-voltage electrical wiring and low-voltage system installations while adhering to NFPA 70 compliance standards.
- Diagnose electrical issues using testing tools such as ohmmeters and troubleshoot complex electrical systems efficiently.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to ensure precise installation and maintenance.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to complete wiring projects safely and accurately.
- Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems to identify potential hazards or failures, ensuring all work complies with NEC (National Electrical Code) regulations.
- Collaborate with construction teams during renovation or new build projects, including framing carpentry and schematic reading for seamless integration of electrical components.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Journeyman Electrician with a strong background in industrial and commercial electrical systems.
- Demonstrated ability to read electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams accurately.
- Extensive knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC regulations, and local electrical codes.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical systems using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters.
- Experience working on high-voltage electrical wiring and industrial electrical systems is highly preferred.
- Ability to interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals effectively in fast-paced environments.
- Strong understanding of electrical safety procedures, including lockout/tagout practices and PPE requirements.
- Construction site experience with renovation projects or new installations is desirable; handyman or framing carpentry skills are a plus.
