Position Summary
The Registered Dental Assistant will assist the dentist during a variety of general dental procedures, help prepare treatment rooms, take radiographs, maintain proper sterilization and infection control, and support smooth patient flow throughout the day. The ideal candidate is organized, reliable, gentle with patients, and willing to learn and grow with the practice.
Responsibilities
The Registered Dental Assistant will be responsible for:
- Assisting the dentist chairside during restorative, surgical, prosthetic, and other general dental procedures
- Preparing and breaking down treatment rooms before and after each patient
- Taking dental radiographs, intraoral photos, impressions, scans, and bite registrations as needed
- Reviewing and updating patient medical histories, vitals, and treatment notes
- Providing patients with post-operative instructions and basic oral hygiene education
- Sterilizing instruments and maintaining infection control according to OSHA/CDC guidelines
- Preparing tray setups and ensuring necessary instruments and materials are ready for procedures
- Supporting lab-related tasks such as pouring models, fabricating temporary crowns, or assisting with impressions/scans when needed
- Maintaining dental equipment, supplies, and operatory organization
- Communicating clearly with the doctor, hygienists, front office, and patients
- Helping create a positive and comfortable patient experience
Qualifications
- Current Texas Registered Dental Assistant license required
- Radiology certification required as part of Texas RDA requirements
- Prior dental assisting experience preferred; general dentistry experience is a plus
- Knowledge of sterilization, infection control, dental terminology, and basic dental procedures
- Comfortable taking X-rays and assisting with routine dental procedures
- Experience with digital dentistry, intraoral scanning, CBCT, or dental software is a plus but not required
- Must be punctual, dependable, organized, and professional
- Must have excellent communication skills and a positive attitude
- Must work well in a team environment

Schedule
Schedule may vary depending on office needs. Availability during regular weekday business hours is preferred. Not open on the weekends.
