Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Billing Specialist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process, ensuring accurate coding, and facilitating timely reimbursement from insurance providers. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic medical office environment, utilizing advanced EMR system. The successful applicant will possess strong knowledge of medical coding standards, including CPT, and ICD-10, along with excellent organizational skills to handle medical records and billing procedures efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit accurate medical claims using appropriate ICD-10 and CPT, codes.
- Review and verify medical records for completeness and correctness prior to billing.
- Ensure compliance with all coding standards and insurance regulations.
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective medical collection strategies.
- Maintain detailed documentation within EMR system for all billing activities.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses and procedures as needed.
- Monitor accounts receivable and assist in resolving billing discrepancies promptly.
- Stay updated on changes in medical coding guidelines, including ICD-10 updates.
- Assist in training new staff on billing procedures and software systems.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in medical billing with a solid understanding of medical terminology and records management.
- Proficiency in EMR system used for billing purposes.
- Strong knowledge of ICD -10, CPT coding.
- Familiarity with medical collection processes and insurance claim submission protocols.
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy in coding and documentation.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience working in a medical office setting is preferred. This position is integral to ensuring the financial health of our practice while supporting quality patient care through precise billing practices.
Pay: From $23.00 per hour
