Express Employment Professionals is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machinist to join an industry-leading manufacturer near Eagan, Minnesota. The ideal candidate will have experience setting up, operating, and troubleshooting Haas CNC machining centers while producing high-quality precision components. This position requires a strong understanding of machining processes, blueprint reading, quality inspections, and maintaining tight tolerances.
What's an average day like as a CNC Machinist
- Set up and operate Haas CNC mills and/or lathes to manufacture precision parts.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
- Load and edit CNC programs as needed to optimize machining processes.
- Select, install, and adjust tooling, fixtures, and work-holding devices.
- Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring instruments.
- Monitor machine performance and make necessary offsets and adjustments.
- Maintain product quality and ensure compliance with customer specifications and company standards.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend process improvements.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Follow all safety procedures and manufacturing best practices.
What do we look for in a CNC Machinist?
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- 2+ years of CNC machining experience, preferably operating Haas equipment.
- Experience with machine setup, tooling changes, and offset adjustments.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T symbols.
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, indicators, and gauges.
- Strong understanding of machining feeds, speeds, tooling, and materials.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical degree or certification in CNC machining, manufacturing technology, or a related field.
- Experience with Haas controls and conversational programming.
- Knowledge of G-code and M-code programming.
- Experience machining a variety of materials including aluminum, stainless steel, plastics, and tool steels.
- Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods during shifts.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Manual dexterity to handle tools, parts, and measuring equipment.
- Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment with noise and moving machinery.
