Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of all designated areas, including floors, restrooms, offices, and common spaces using commercial cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and vacuums.
- Handle chemical agents safely while performing sanitation tasks, following all chemical handling safety procedures.
- Utilize custodial experience to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across the facility.
- Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling of cleaning supplies, furniture, and equipment following safe lifting practices.
- Maintain cleaning equipment by performing routine maintenance and ensuring proper operation.
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all cleaning activities to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Assist with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or reporting larger issues for resolution.
- Ensure all cleaning supplies are stored securely and inventory levels are monitored regularly.
- Support industrial cleaning projects or residential painting tasks as needed to uphold facility standards.
Qualifications
- Proven janitorial or custodial experience with a strong understanding of commercial cleaning procedures.
- Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing, stripping, and polishing floors using appropriate equipment.
- Experience handling chemical agents safely and understanding chemical handling safety procedures.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks while adhering to safe lifting practices.
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, mops, and other custodial tools.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to sanitation and safety standards.
- Excellent time management skills to complete assigned tasks efficiently during night shifts.
- Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and reporting maintenance issues.
