About the Opportunity
JE Brick Homes, Inc. is seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technician to provide preventive maintenance and service support for a U.S. Coast Guard facility located in downtown Miami. This is a recurring federal maintenance contract supporting mission-critical HVAC equipment.
This position is ideal for an experienced technician looking for consistent monthly work with opportunities for additional service calls.
Responsibilities
- Perform monthly preventive maintenance on commercial HVAC equipment.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and service rooftop units, split systems, mini-splits, and ceiling-mounted units.
- Replace MERV-11 air filters.
- Clean evaporator and condenser coils as required.
- Inspect belts, bearings, motors, electrical connections, condensate drains, and controls.
- Record operating temperatures, pressures, amperage, and voltage readings.
- Complete electronic service reports and maintenance documentation.
- Respond to authorized service calls as needed.
- Maintain a clean and professional work area while following all federal facility requirements.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of commercial HVAC service experience.
- EPA Universal Certification preferred.
- Experience servicing commercial rooftop units, split systems, and mini-splits.
- Ability to diagnose electrical and refrigeration issues.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent written documentation skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass a federal background screening.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Compensation
- $90–$100 per hour for scheduled preventive maintenance.
- Additional authorized service calls paid at the agreed hourly rate.
- Consistent monthly work.
- Flexible scheduling during normal business hours.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience supporting federal, military, or commercial facilities.
- Experience working in occupied office buildings.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance documentation and inspection reporting.
- Preference will be given to technicians who reside within 25 miles of downtown Miami/Brickell and have experience performing preventive maintenance on commercial HVAC systems in federal, municipal, healthcare, or Class A office buildings.
