Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled, dependable, and detail-oriented Fabrication / Upfitter Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, modifying, assembling, and installing equipment on commercial vehicles, service bodies, utility trucks, vans, and fleet vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
- Install and upfit aftermarket equipment on commercial trucks, vans, utility vehicles, and fleet vehicles.
- Perform metal fabrication tasks including cutting, drilling, grinding, fitting, and welding.
- Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, installation guides, and technical drawings.
- Install vehicle accessories and equipment such as:
- Toolboxes
- Ladder racks
- Shelving systems
- Lighting packages
- Bumpers
- Trailer hitches
- Other specialty equipment
- Install generators, welders, compressors, and hydraulic-powered equipment.
- Perform basic 12V–48V electrical wiring, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
- Work with 110V and 220V electrical systems as required.
- Safely operate fabrication tools, welding equipment, and shop machinery.
- Inspect completed work to ensure it meets company quality and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Complete projects efficiently while working independently and collaboratively with team members.
QualificationsRequired
- Basic welding and metal fabrication experience (weld test required).
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
- Ability to supply the tools necessary to complete assigned work orders.
- Knowledge of low-voltage electrical systems (12V–48V).
- Understanding of 110V and 220V electrical systems.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds or more and work in a physically active shop environment.
- Reliable attendance, strong work ethic, and positive attitude.
Preferred
- Previous experience in vehicle upfitting, fabrication, welding, automotive repair, fleet maintenance, or a related field.
- Experience installing service body equipment, hydraulic systems, generators, welders, compressors, or fleet accessories.
