Overview
We are seeking experienced, safety-focused CDL Class A Bottom Dump Drivers to join our material moving company. Our drivers transport aggregate, sand, gravel, dirt, asphalt, and other construction materials to and from job sites throughout the region.
Job Description
- Safely operate bottom dump trucks, including tractor-trailers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and
- Load and unload freight efficiently using manual handling techniques and equipment such as forklifts when applicable.
- Follow all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, and hazardous materials regulations to ensure compliance during transportation.
- Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery times and maintain accurate delivery schedules.
- Load, secure, and unload cargo carefully, ensuring the safety of hazardous materials and dangerous goods during transit.
- Maintain detailed logs of deliveries, routes, and vehicle inspections in accordance with logistics cargo handling standards.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to identify maintenance needs or safety issues.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, especially with tractor-trailers or dump trucks.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements for manual transmission operation and hazardous materials if applicable.
- Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles and truck driving best practices.
- Experience operating refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tanker trucks, or roll-off trucks is preferred.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for dangerous goods transportation.
- Ability to handle manual tasks such as load & unload operations safely and efficiently.
- Strong understanding of route driving using GPS navigation systems for timely deliveries.
- Physical ability to perform manual handling tasks including lifting, loading, and unloading freight safely.
