Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of trucks, trailers and heavy equipment in the field as well as in the shop. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of construction machinery, industrial equipment, and fleet vehicles. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, electrical components, and air brake systems using schematics and diagnostic tools.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as haul trucks and trailers, excavators, backhoes, loaders, skidsteers, tractors, and other construction machinery.
- Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding and hand tools to meet OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues efficiently by analyzing mechanical and electrical systems to identify root causes.
- Replace or repair faulty components including brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, tires, and powertrain parts.
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation for all repairs performed for accountability and future reference.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic with experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment operation including construction machinery maintenance
- Proficiency in electrical diagnostics, automotive diagnostics, schematics reading, and equipment troubleshooting.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy equipment such as excavators or cranes when necessary.
- Knowledge of OEM specifications for diesel engine repair, brake repair, transmissions, suspension systems, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and electrical systems.
- Certifications related to diesel engine diagnostics or heavy equipment mechanics are a plus
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
