Duties
- Safely operate passenger vehicles such as vans, shuttles, or limousines to transport clients to medical appointments, therapy sessions, or other destinations within local routes.
- Adhere strictly to traffic regulations and state transportation laws to ensure passenger safety at all times.
- Use GPS navigation systems to plan efficient routes, monitor traffic conditions, and make timely adjustments for punctuality.
- Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, providing courteous customer service and ensuring comfort throughout the trip.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks to keep vehicles in optimal condition.
- Communicate effectively with clients to confirm schedules, address special needs, or provide updates during transit.
- Handle heavy lifting when necessary to load or unload mobility aids or luggage securely into the vehicle.
Experience
- Prior experience as a delivery driver, bus driver, chauffeur, or shuttle driver is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to operate passenger vans, limousine services, or similar passenger vehicles with a focus on safety and customer service.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation tools and local driving routes within the community.
- Experience in medical transportation or working with clients requiring special assistance is a strong plus.
- Knowledge of heavy lifting techniques and manual handling procedures to assist passengers safely.
- Understanding of state transportation regulations and adherence to all traffic laws governing passenger vehicles.
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction and coordination with dispatch teams.
