Job Description:
In this role, you will perform dock and related operations at the Charleston Maritime Center.

Assists with supervising the daily dock operations at the Charleston Maritime Center.

Provides detailed information regarding services, policies and procedures to tenants and patrons.

Performs all aspects of customer service for marina patrons and tenants, including dockage, fueling and accommodations.

Performs proper physical maintenance and upkeep of the facility. Assists with the preparation for all special events held at the facility.

Secures boat to dock with mooring lines.

Connects utility lines (telephone, power, and water) to boat.

Operates motor vehicle to transport patrons and baggage to and from dockside.

Reports any major disturbances in dock area to superior.

Pumps blackwater from boats.

Delivers ice and written messages to patrons.

Polices dock area.

May serve as overall supervisor of dock operations in the absence of the Dock Supervisor or Operations Manager.

Performs other duties as assigned.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 1 year of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Valid driver’s license.

May require evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.

In the event of major storms or other emergency situations, this position may be subject to 24-hour shifts or any other emergency schedule that is necessary to meet the City’s needs.
