Pay: $35.00 per hour
Schedule: Full-time, temporary. Monday through Friday, on either the 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM shift or the 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM shift.
Contract Duration: September through February (6 months), with potential for extension

About the Position
We are seeking a Lab Technician (Temporary Position) with expertise in Molecular and Cellular Biology to assist the verification and validation of the Kryptos KUICK molecular diagnostics systems. Reporting to the V&V Supervisor, this is a hands-on, bench level position with key responsibilities in the area of verification and validation, and a unique opportunity to be part of a small, growing company working on projects that are particularly important in the current global environment. Flexibility is important in adjusting to changes in work volume and focus in a fast-paced, early-stage company environment.
General Responsibilities:
- Perform, document and evaluate verification and validation activities for Kryptos KUICK real-time PCR instruments, and consumables.
- Handle microorganisms and human samples in BSL-1 or BSL-2 environments.
- Collect and analyze data with good laboratory practices and draw scientific conclusions.
- Maintain quality control notebook, records, and documentation.
- Foster and maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols, while ensuring that all reagents and supplies consistently meet established quality control standards.
- Conduct incoming reagent inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications, verifying that all materials meet required criteria.
- Work within established quality systems to ensure all processes, procedures, and documentation meet regulatory and industry standards.
Qualifications:
- B.S. or M.S. in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or Bioengineering-related discipline.
- 2 - 3 years of hands-on experience with IVD product development or V&V including executing protocols, recording and analyzing data, drafting study reports in accordance with FDA regulations and international quality standards.
- Experience with operating lab equipment.
- Experience with PCR-based assays.
- Experience working with microorganisms and human samples in accordance with Biosafety program requirements for BSL-1 and BSL-2 materials and environments.
- Strong communication, writing, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated manual wet lab experiment skills.
- Collaborative, resourceful, team-player attitude.
- Attention to detail.
