Support the Executive Chef in the overall operation of the kitchen, including food preparation, production, and service.
Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure consistent quality, proper portion control, and timely service.
Monitor food preparation to ensure recipes, standards, and presentation guidelines are followed.
Assist with menu development, food costing, and maintaining inventory levels.
Oversee kitchen cleanliness, organization, and compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards.
Ensure proper handling, storage, and rotation of all food products to minimize waste.
Lead by example in maintaining a positive, professional, and team-oriented kitchen environment.
Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
Assist in scheduling kitchen staff and monitoring labor costs to meet budget guidelines.
- Participate in training and development of culinary staff to foster growth and skill advancement.

Maintain knowledge of industry trends, culinary techniques, and seasonal ingredients.

Qualifications:

- High degree of knowledge of culinary techniques, kitchen operation, sanitation, leadership skills, and supervisory abilities.
- Must be a graduate of an approved culinary school. Advanced degree is a plus as is ACF certification.
- At least five years of experience in a high-quality restaurant environment.
- Working knowledge of Windows XP, Word & Excel.
- Strong communication skills are essential.
- Ability to coach, mentor and guide associates.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Candidates will be required to prepare a three-course dinner utilizing items from a mystery basket (five portions per course).
