The Roman Catholic Parishes of Glen Cove is seeking Multiple Part Time Maintenance Workers/Facilities Assistants for our St. Patrick and St. Rocco locations. Works schedule is 20 hours per week. Must be on call for emergencies and on weekends if needed. Must have valid driver’s license.
Pay Rate: $25.00 Per hour. Reports to the Parish Business Manager and Pastor.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conducts daily inspections on equipment and facilities to ensure operability and safety of all. Report any issues to the Business Manager/Facilities Manager.
- Knowledge of electrical systems and HVAC systems.
- Manages shutdowns and restarts of full plant operations or individual systems for routine and emergency reasons.
- Assist in opening and/or locking buildings, provide set-up and cleaning of facilities for all activities and events as needed.
- Individual must be able to work under the supervision of the Business Manager and follow parish procedures
- Supervised plant resources, equipment and supply inventories and maintain adequate controls of same.
- Maintain all grounds equipment (ie. truck, golf cart, lawn equipment, etc).
- Assist with snow / ice removal.
- Set-up and breakdown of social rooms (tables/chairs)
- Work to resolve any plumbing and electrical issues.
- Responsible for complying with all and any DRVC training requirements.
- Responsible for completing other duties, as assigned
Physical Requirements
- This job will require the use of ladders.
- Must be able to climb stairs, kneel, push and pull objects.
- Lifting and moving objects up to 50 lbs.
