Advanced Ambulatory Surgery Center is looking for Full-Time Registered Nurses for our OR Circulator positions.
**Must have at least 2 years of Ortho/Spine experience.**
RESPONSIBILITIES:
FL Nursing License Required.
· Demonstrates knowledge of management of patient, including: being available to anesthesia during intubation and extubating, assisting as needed in sudden changes in patient condition and being readily available to assist as directed.
· Performs thorough patient interview and assessment in accordance with procedure and assures an appropriate, detailed time out process is done according to policy.
· Consistently reviews charts for completeness, in accordance with documentation protocols prior to and after the surgical procedure. Assures appropriate consent, H/P, diagnostic reports, and relevant information are on chart prior to the start of procedure.
· Prepares and administers medications in accordance with current practice.
· Performs nursing activities in the operating room where the circulating nurse is the patient's advocate.
· Answers patient needs by assisting the physician and person responsible for anesthesia care.
· Communicates effectively with patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers.
· Maintains professional competence by participating in continuing education and other learning experiences.
· Adheres to safety and environment of care policies and procedures in performing job duties and responsibilities.
· Addresses patient needs during admission to the operating room, with attention to requirements specific to the outpatient setting.
· Performs the circulating nurse's role and functions following approved operating room procedures to meet the requirements of scheduled procedures.
· Responds in a timely manner to meet the needs of the patient and physician.
· Demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to provide appropriate care for patients.
· Other duties as assigned by supervisor, administrator.
