Job Overview
Prelude Early Learning is seeking a passionate, energetic, and engaging Early Childhood Music-to-Literacy Teacher to support preschool-aged children through music, movement, language, and play-based learning experiences.
This role combines joyful music instruction with early language and literacy development in preschool classrooms, family enrichment programs, and community settings. Teachers will lead highly interactive sessions that promote expressive language, sound awareness, vocabulary development, social-emotional growth, and kindergarten readiness.
We are looking for individuals who love working with young children, enjoy singing and movement, and are excited to bring warmth, creativity, and confidence into early learning environments.
This is a paid, part-time position with opportunities for growth, training, and ongoing mentorship.
Responsibilities
- Lead engaging music-to-literacy sessions for children ages 2–6 in preschool and early learning environments
- Facilitate activities involving singing, rhythm, movement, storytelling, dramatic play, and sound awareness
- Support early language and prereading development through playful, developmentally appropriate instruction
- Create a joyful, inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and exploration
- Use positive behavior support and classroom management strategies to maintain safe and engaging sessions
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and site staff to support implementation between visits
- Communicate professionally with families, teachers, and administrators
- Assist with special events, family engagement sessions, camps, or community performances as needed
- Participate in onboarding, training, and team meetings
Experience and Qualifications
- Experience working with young children in preschool, childcare, early intervention, music education, camps, or related settings preferred
- Background in music, theater, dance, early childhood education, speech/language development, or performing arts strongly encouraged
- Comfortable singing and leading group activities with energy and enthusiasm
- Understanding of early childhood development and play-based learning practices
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to adapt instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners and classroom environments
- Experience supporting children with varying developmental or behavioral needs is a plus
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to local preschool sites preferred

Compensation
- Starting at approximately $35/hour for instructional time
- Additional compensation opportunities may be available for sales, travel, special events, camps, and contracted program growth

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
