Bay Cast Technologies machines large-format parts for top-tier leaders in Aerospace, Defense, Power Generation, Mining, and Machine Tool industries. As experts in turn-key bed plate and surface plate solutions, we're growing strong — driven by innovation and a team that takes pride in getting it done.
We're looking for a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to own the production system for our parts and product lines. You'll work directly on the shop floor selecting equipment and tooling, designing fixtures, laying out workflow, and driving new parts and jobs into production. This is a high-mix, low-volume environment where no two days look the same, and we need someone who thrives close to the machines and the people running them.
What You'll Do
- Own getting new parts and jobs into production — from equipment selection and tooling/fixture design to workflow and cell layout
- Specify machines and tooling for new and existing jobs; program or oversee CNC programming across various machines and manufacturers
- Design, build, and debug fixtures and workholding to meet cycle time, quality, and repeatability targets
- Lead hands-on troubleshooting on the floor, diagnosing equipment and process issues in real time
- Design and implement cost-effective equipment modifications and upgrades to improve safety, reliability, throughput, and cycle time
- Keep equipment and utilities running consistently within spec, coordinating maintenance and repair as needed
- Work directly with operators and the floor to resolve problems, with a focus on cycle time, equipment efficiency, and smooth ramp-up of new work
- Direct machinists, programmers, and technicians during equipment installation, modification, and repair
- Manage multiple projects and production duties simultaneously, handling documentation such as validations, operating procedures, engineering change notifications, and spare parts listings
- Work with metal removal, stampings, castings, forgings, valves, and moving parts

- CAM/CAD proficiency, including fixture and tooling design
- Strong background in mechanical and pneumatic systems, sensors, machine controls, CNC controls, servo motion controls, axis drives, and machine troubleshooting
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and facility drawings
- Mechanical, electrical, electronic, and software background with working knowledge across disciplines
- Experience in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and a practical, hands-on approach
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
