Position Summary:
This position is responsible for AR follow up on all unpaid claims for Government and Non-Government payors. The responsibilities will include reviewing all denials and bringing them to resolution and reviewing credits for possible refunds and/or missing revenue.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Research zero paid claims and takes action for maximum reimbursement.
- Work collection follow up reports for unpaid claims 0-120+ days..
- Reviews all managed care claims for contract compliance. Recovers under/overpaid claims, refunds overpayments to insurance.
- Tracks and trends all denials for quality improvement opportunities.
- File appeals on appropriate denied inpatient and outpatient claims.
- Creates, organizes, corrects, updates and maintains accounts using medical billing software.
- Cash posting within the AR computer system(s).
- Research all credits for Government and Non-Government claims for possible refunds.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required
Position Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; Associates degree preferred.
- A minimum of 2+ years’ experience medical facility and professional billing experience preferred.
- Knowledge of third party payers, managed care contracts, claims review, analysis and quality assurance experience preferred.
- Strong computer skills, utilizing a variety of software applications, including EPIC is required.
- Data entry and/or PC experience required. Familiar with Word, Excel and internet navigation.
- Must possess the ability to handle multiple projects/tasks at one time.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to communicate effectively using age-specific and developmentally appropriate care for the spectrum of populations admitted to Lindner Center Of Hope.

Physical Requirements:
The physical demands of this position are consistent with those performed in a normal office environment, including occasional lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling, and sufficient manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment and ability to use to use a computer.
