Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Hotel Chief Engineer to lead our facilities maintenance and engineering operations. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the management, repair, and maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems within the hotel. Duties
- Lead and manage the facilities maintenance team to ensure timely repair and upkeep of mechanical systems, electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC units, and other critical infrastructure.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to optimize equipment lifespan and performance.
- Oversee troubleshooting and repairs involving programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics interpretation, electrical systems (high voltage and low voltage), HVAC system repair, and mechanical systems repair.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety regulations by conducting regular safety audits, training staff on safety procedures, and maintaining a safe working environment.
- Manage facilities projects from planning through execution, including managing budgets, schedules, and coordinating with contractors or vendors.
- Supervise the inspection of mechanical systems using tools such as ohmmeters for electrical testing and ensure adherence to maintenance repair procedures.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and safety compliance using CMMS software.
- Lead emergency response efforts related to facility issues such as electrical failures or HVAC malfunctions to minimize guest impact.
- Ensure all team members are trained on safety regulations, schematics reading, facilities management protocols, and proper use of tools like multimeters or ohmmeters.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement by reviewing maintenance procedures regularly and implementing best practices in industrial maintenance.
Qualifications
- Proven management experience supervising facilities maintenance teams within a hospitality or manufacturing environment.
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems repair including HVAC systems (including HVAC system repair), plumbing system maintenance and repair, electrical systems (high voltage/low voltage), and industrial maintenance procedures.
- Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics interpretation, OSHA regulations, safety regulations enforcement, and CMMS software.
- Practical experience with electrical troubleshooting using tools such as ohmmeters; understanding of electrical systems including high voltage applications.
- Excellent communication skills in English for clear reporting and team coordination.
- Ability to read technical schematics for mechanical or electrical troubleshooting; proficiency in Microsoft Office suite for documentation purposes.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes or large-scale facilities management is preferred but not required.
- Valid certifications in safety regulations or industrial maintenance are advantageous; ongoing professional development encouraged.
