Generator Supercenter is expanding; due to our growth we are seeking Full-Time Service Technicians to join our team!
Must have experience working at oil change service stations or experience working with small engine repair.
Pay: $19.00-$25.00 per hour based on experience level.
Level 1 Generator Service Tech $19-$23
Level 2 Generator Service Tech $23-$25 Must have a valid liquid cooled/air cooled certification
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Perform all seasonal preventative maintenance (i.e. oil changes, replace belts and hoses, engines, stator & rotors etc.).
- Evaluate and repair faulty mechanical systems.
- Troubleshoot 12/24 Volt DC systems and generators.
- Troubleshoot 120/240 Volt AC systems and generators.
- Understand basic electrical meter and disconnects.
- Perform related duties assigned or as the situation dictates.
- Learn to follow electrical diagrams and troubleshooting codes.
- Maintain updated knowledge of product and industry trends and methods.
- Maintain awareness of and continually practice safe work habits.
- Maintain cleanliness on projects both during and after job completion.
- Test, troubleshoot and operate automatic transfer switches
- Perform start-ups
- Perform warranty work
- Document all services performed thoroughly in English
- Maintain part inventory within service vehicle
- Participate in rotating 24/7 service schedule
- May include other duties as assigned
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Must be a highly motivated, self-starter
- Provide strong customer service (working with customers directly)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and problem solve quickly
Qualifications:
- 1+ years of relevant experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing or overhauling generators
- Or experience working as a oil change service technician
- Generac experience preferred, willing to train the right candidate
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
- Basic mechanical and some electrical knowledge
- Must be able to pass the background check & DMV check
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work in varying weather conditions and temperatures as the majority of the work is performed outdoors.
- Require standing, walk on uneven surfaces, turning, stopping, kneeling, crouching, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects.
- Ability to use basic hand/power tools.
- Ability to communicate effectively, read, and write in English.
- Ability to use phone app’s.
- Ability to lift upwards to 50/60 lbs. when necessary.
- Climb ladders upward to 10’ if necessary.
- This position will be frequently working around electricity and other potential hazards. Appropriate safety equipment and practices required.
