American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a SICU position at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring VA or compact licensure and a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience.

Located in a 431-bed short-term acute care hospital designated as a Level II Trauma Center
-
Surgical ICU (SICU) unit caring for a specialized patient population including trauma, cardiovascular surgery (TAVRs, CABGs), and complex neurosurgery patients
-
Additional diagnoses include acute ventilator needs, COVID+ with high O2 demand, DKA, severe sepsis, unstable GI bleed, open heart recovery, TAVR recovery, post-code blue, multi-system organ failure, and patients requiring CRRT
-
Patient ratio of 1:2–3, adjusted to skill level and acuity during float assignments

Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:00

Every other weekend required

Floating within scope required to meet facility needs

No on-call requirement

Block scheduling is not available
-
Charting performed in Epic
-
Scrub color: Navy blue
-
Active VA or compact RN license required
-
Current ACLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required

Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required

Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation and management
-
Experience with arterial line management and blood product administration
-
Experience with ventilator management and CRRT required

Epic EMR experience preferred
