Duties
- Perform roofing installations, repairs, and maintenance using hand tools, power tools, and specialized roofing equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to ensure accurate project execution.
- Prepare surfaces and structures by framing, metal stud framing, or applying insulation as needed for roofing systems.
- Utilize construction estimating skills to assess project requirements and materials needed for each job.
- Conduct heavy lifting of materials such as shingles, metal panels, or plywood to facilitate efficient installation.
- Apply caulking, sealants, and other waterproofing techniques to ensure roofs are weather-tight and durable.
- Assist with restoration projects involving stucco, masonry, or tile laying to complement roofing work when necessary.
- Operate welding equipment or fabricate components for custom roofing solutions when required.
- Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and using proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate with team members to read schematics and ensure precise fabrication and installation of roofing components.
Qualifications
- Experience installing standing seam
- Experience installing tile roofs
- Carpentry experience
- Experience with asphalt shingle roof
- Experience with low sloping roofs
- Proven experience in construction site work with a focus on roofing projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction estimating, blueprint reading, and schematics interpretation.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques.
- Familiarity with heavy lifting practices and safety standards on active job sites.
- Experience with various construction trades such as carpentry, masonry, plumbing, or remodeling is a plus.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring physical strength including lifting heavy materials safely.
- Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations relevant to roofing and construction work.
