FUNCTIONAL & INTEGRATIVE MEDICINE PRACTITIONER
Part-Time Independent Contractor | Grants Pass, Oregon
Come practice medicine. We’ll handle the business.
Are you a nurse practitioner who wants to spend more time helping patients and less time buried in administrative work?
Via Vita Wellness is seeking a thoughtful, clinically strong practitioner to join our growing functional and integrative medicine practice in Grants Pass, Oregon. This is a flexible, part-time contracted position created for a provider who wants meaningful clinical work, professional growth, and a sustainable work-life balance.
We are looking for someone who already has functional or integrative medicine experience—or who has a strong foundation in gut health, men and women’s health, and hormone therapy and is genuinely committed to learning a deeper root-cause approach.
This is not a traditional high-volume primary-care position. Our providers have time to listen, investigate patterns, educate patients, and build individualized plans. You will work with engaged patients while receiving administrative, clinical, and team support from an established practice.
ABOUT VIA VITA WELLNESS
Via Vita Wellness is a patient-centered functional and integrative medicine practice serving rural Southern Oregon and Northern California.
Our approach combines responsible evidence-based medicine with individualized care addressing physical, hormonal, metabolic, nutritional, emotional, and lifestyle factors.
Our primary areas of care include:
- Women’s health, perimenopause, menopause, and hormone therapy
- Men’s hormone health and testosterone therapy
- Thyroid and metabolic health
- Insulin resistance and medically managed weight loss
- Gut health, digestive symptoms, and specialty testing
- Nutritional and lifestyle interventions
- Peptide and regenerative therapies
- Complex chronic symptoms requiring thoughtful clinical prioritization
- Environmental exposure, mold, Lyme, and biotoxin-related concerns
- Sexual wellness and selected office procedures
We believe functional medicine should be clinically responsible, evidence-aware, and safe. Providers must be able to distinguish established diagnoses from emerging or uncertain clinical theories and recognize when consultation, conventional workup, or specialty referral is required.
WHY THIS POSITION IS DIFFERENT
This opportunity may be a good fit if you are looking for:
- A genuinely part-time schedule
- Greater control over your clinical calendar
- A combination of in-person and telehealth care
- Time to provide thoughtful, personalized visits
- An established patient population
- Functional-medicine mentorship and case collaboration
- The opportunity to learn additional services without being expected to know everything on day one
- Administrative support for scheduling, billing, claims, prior authorizations, refills, and patient coordination
- A collaborative team rather than the isolation of running your own practice
- Meaningful work without the administrative burden and burnout of traditional primary care

WHO WILL THRIVE HERE
The right provider is curious without being reckless, independent without being isolated, and confident without being unwilling to ask for help.
You may thrive at Via Vita if you:
- Want to understand why a patient is struggling rather than simply adding another medication
- Value evidence but remain open-minded and curious
- Can separate plausible clinical hypotheses from established diagnoses
- Enjoy working with motivated patients who want to participate in their care
- Want mentorship without micromanagement
- Communicate respectfully with medical assistants, administrative staff, patients, and fellow providers
- Follow through reliably on documentation and patient needs
- Want to continue learning throughout your career
- Are looking for meaningful part-time work that leaves room for your family, personal life, or another professional interest
This position will not be a good fit for a provider who wants to cherry-pick only preferred patients, work outside agreed clinical systems, dismiss support staff, provide therapies beyond demonstrated competence, or avoid collaborative case review.
