Job Summary:
Bank of America is seeking an experienced Solutions Architect to join the Modern Developer Experience (DevEx) organization. DevEx delivers enterprise technical standards, shared platforms, tools, and services that enable development teams across the bank to build secure, scalable, and high-quality applications.
This role is ideal for a hands-on technical leader with strong architecture and DevOps expertise who can design enterprise solutions, drive automation, and collaborate with development teams across a matrixed environment. The selected candidate will participate in project planning, solution design, proof-of-concepts, development support, and technical leadership while working with both onshore and offshore teams.
Project Details:
- Support the Modern Developer Experience (DevEx) organization by designing and advancing enterprise development platforms, tools, and technical standards.
- Improve the developer experience through automation, standardization, and innovative platform solutions.
- Design secure, scalable, resilient, and high-performing enterprise applications across multiple technology stacks.
- Lead architecture discussions, technical design, and proof-of-concept initiatives for new technologies and patterns.
- Partner with development teams, engineers, product owners, and Scrum teams to deliver enterprise solutions while collaborating with global onshore and offshore teams.
- Drive consistency, governance, automation, and enterprise architecture best practices throughout the SDLC.
Must Haves
- 8+ years of experience in Solution Architecture, Application Architecture, or Technical Leadership.
- Experience designing enterprise solutions across multiple technology platforms, including Java/J2EE, .NET, Python, JavaScript, Linux, and Windows.
- Strong hands-on experience with DevOps and CI/CD tools, including Jenkins, Ansible/Tower, Git/Bitbucket, GitHub & GitHub Actions, Artifactory, SonarQube, Jira, and Harness.
- Experience designing highly available, scalable, and resilient enterprise applications using load balancing, clustering, caching, and replication.
- Strong understanding of application security, including OAuth/OIDC, token-based authentication, encryption, and authentication/authorization protocols.
- Experience across the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, release, and operations.
- Ability to perform hands-on proof-of-concept (POC) work to evaluate new technologies and architecture patterns.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to provide technical guidance to development teams and communicate effectively with business and technology stakeholders.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.

- Previous Bank of America experience.
- Experience with Bank of America's Horizon SDLC tool.
- Experience with microservices and service-oriented architecture (SOA).
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, API Management, Service Mesh/Gateway technologies, and Swagger/OpenAPI.
- Experience with modern front-end frameworks such as Angular or React.
- Experience improving developer productivity through platform engineering, automation, and enterprise DevOps practices.
- Strong ownership mindset with the ability to work independently while leading technical initiatives with minimal supervision.
