Line Cook / Prep CookJob Summary
We are looking for a reliable, hardworking, and team-oriented Line Cook / Prep Cook to prepare high-quality food, maintain clean and organized kitchen areas, and support smooth daily kitchen operations. The ideal candidate takes pride in food quality, cleanliness, organization, and teamwork while working efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and set up kitchen stations before opening, including:
- Cooking and food preparation stations
- Refrigerated and dry-storage areas
- Food preparation equipment and utensils
- Hot and cold holding areas
- Kitchen and dishwashing areas
Prepare and cook food according to company recipes, portion standards, and quality guidelines.
Complete daily food preparation tasks, including:
- Washing, cutting, chopping, and portioning ingredients
- Preparing sauces, dressings, marinades, and other ingredients
- Preparing meats, vegetables, and other menu items
- Labeling, dating, storing, and rotating prepared foods
Work closely with other kitchen and front-of-house team members to ensure food is prepared and served accurately and efficiently.
Monitor food quality, temperatures, freshness, and portion sizes throughout the shift.
Maintain proper food safety and sanitation procedures, including:
- Proper handwashing and glove use
- Preventing cross-contamination
- Maintaining safe food temperatures
- Proper food storage and labeling
- Cleaning and sanitizing work surfaces and equipment
Keep cooking and preparation stations clean, organized, and properly stocked throughout the shift.
Monitor and restock:
- Fresh ingredients
- Prepared foods
- Cooking supplies
- Seasonings and sauces
- Packaging and kitchen supplies
- Other back-of-house supplies
Perform pre-closing procedures, including:
- Restocking kitchen stations
- Preparing ingredients and supplies for the next shift
- Organizing refrigerators, freezers, and storage areas
- Identifying low-stock items and informing supervisors when additional supplies need to be ordered
Perform daily closing procedures, including cleaning and sanitizing cooking and preparation areas, storing food properly, organizing supplies, and completing required safety and equipment checks.
Perform weekly and monthly deep-cleaning and maintenance tasks in kitchen and food preparation areas.
Assist with inventory organization, receiving, storage, and rotation of food and kitchen supplies.
Follow FIFO (first-in, first-out) procedures and ensure products are properly labeled and dated.
Assist with other kitchen duties, cleaning, maintenance, and special assignments as directed by supervisors or management.
Follow all company standards for food quality, food safety, sanitation, cleanliness, workplace safety, and kitchen operations.

Position Expectations
The Line Cook / Prep Cook is an important part of the back-of-house team. The position is responsible not only for preparing and cooking food, but also for maintaining clean, organized, stocked, and safe kitchen areas throughout the entire shift. The Line Cook / Prep Cook is expected to work efficiently, maintain consistent food quality, follow all food safety procedures, and support the entire kitchen team as needed.
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
