American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a 13-week travel contract requiring a WV or compact RN license and at least 2 years of ED experience.

Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital setting treating a combined adult/pediatric patient population
-
Patient ratio of 1:4
-
Uses Cerner charting system
-
Day shift schedule of 4x12 hour mids, 11:00-23:00

Weekday shifts with every other weekend required
-
Holiday coverage required
-
No call, charge, or float responsibilities
-
Blocked schedule requests may be considered if requested at time of profile submittal

Active WV or compact RN license required
-
Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS required; TNCC, CPI, MAB, NRP preferred
-
Minimum 2 years of ED experience required, 5 years and small ED background preferred
-
Prior travel nursing experience required
-
Skilled in IV starts, triage, and general ED care
-
Experience with pediatrics, abdominal pain, asthma, burns, head injury, hyperglycemia, infection, mental/behavioral health conditions, poison ingestion, respiratory infection, seizures, skin disorders, spinal cord injury, and UTI
-
Experience managing psychiatric emergencies including acute psychosis, drug overdose, violent behavior, psychiatric holds, and suicidal patients
-
IV therapy and phlebotomy skills including blood product administration, central line care, and starting/maintaining IVs
-
Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care, ABG interpretation, and intubation
-
Experience administering emergency medications, IV vasopressors, IV insulin protocols, and procedural sedation
-
Neurological care experience including CVA and neuro-trauma management
-
Cardiac monitoring skills including dysrhythmia interpretation/management and obtaining 12 lead EKG/ECG

Skilled in isolation precautions/PPE and orthopedic splinting
-
Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
-
Provide emergency care in a general combined adult/pediatric ED, potentially within a STEMI and/or Stroke Certified facility
-
Facility may see shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
-
Must reside within a 75-mile radius of the facility
-
Burgundy scrubs required
