Job Overview: Provide supervision for students who are assigned to the In-School Suspension classroom
Job Functions:

Enforces adherence to established rules and regulations of the in-school suspension program and creates an effective climate for learning.

Serves as a liaison between the classroom teacher and students assigned to ISS to obtain and return the student's daily class work and homework.

Assists students assigned to ISS with completing their regular classroom assignments.

Communicates appropriate behavior, school rules, and regulations to students in the program; and explains to students the reasons for suspension and its impact on their education.

Guides and encourages students to develop a positive attitude toward learning.

Refers behavior problems to Assistant Principal.

Ensure students have faculty or staff escorts to facilities outside the ISS classroom.

Facilitate and arrange delivery of student lunches when necessary.

Maintains daily attendance and other records of students assigned to ISS.

Must be able to handle and react to potential volatile situations and take appropriate action.

Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality with student and staff information.

Must be courteous, professional, and respectful when communicating with parents.

Works with courtesy, tact, and diplomacy in dealing with others, and the ability to work cooperatively as part of a team.

Performs any other related duties as assigned by the Principal or Assistant Principal
