Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a surgery scheduler or in a similar role is preferred
- Proficiency in using medical office software systems such as Dentrix, Epic, or other electronic medical records systems
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and procedures related to surgery scheduling
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with patients and healthcare professionals
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information
Duties:
- Schedule surgeries and procedures for patients
- Coordinate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth scheduling process
- Obtain necessary pre-authorization and insurance verification for surgeries
- Communicate with patients to provide information about surgery dates, preparation instructions, and any necessary paperwork
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of scheduled surgeries and procedures
- Collaborate with medical office staff to ensure efficient workflow and patient satisfaction
