JOB Provide part time care and education for the children in the Eccles Lab School. Establish and maintain a safe, healthy environment. Plan and direct classroom and playground activities. Prepare weekly lesson plans. Set-up the classroom for the daily activities. Support and promote the children’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical development. Assess the development of children to establish individual goals for each child and incorporate activities that can support the development of these goals on a daily basis. Observe and record children’s developmental behavior. Exhibit understanding of principles of child growth and development. Mentor and work closely with all lab students to model correct teaching techniques. Establish productive relationships with families, including parent teacher chats. Ensure cleanliness and the general upkeep of the classroom and playground. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
- Exhibit social maturity, physical endurance and emotional stability required to take charge of a group of preschool children.

Be prepared to receive a minimum of 20 hours of documented in-service training per year.

Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people with a variety of abilities and backgrounds, to maintain good working relationships across the College.

Ability to work with all groups from a variety of academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, and with community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
- Experience working in a NAEYC Accredited Program.

Earned Associates Degree or higher in Early Childhood Development or related field (ECD, FHS, El Ed, or Sp Ed).

At least 1 year classroom experience.
