Position: Construction Manager
Reports to: Project Manager
Position Summary:
We're looking for a Construction Manager on-site in the Ohio area to lead by example in safety, manage and coordinate all aspects of site activity. Maintaining continuous communication with Project Manager. Must be willing to travel or are located in Ohio.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Support the overall operations as needed by management.
- Drives and leads safety requirements as required by DOT regulations.
- Responsible for the safety of crew and job site.
- Corresponds and coordinates with Project Manager, Subcontractors, Vendors, Contractors, and Clients when required, in an appropriate timeframe and method that clearly communicates goals.
- Crew daily status - Reports daily progress on jobsite activities.
- Reporting daily production including footage, project overview and projected completion dates as needed (% of work left in projects).
- Watches for critical roadblocks and extended drill times. Obtains early approval for specific items when necessary.
- Verifying and approving timecards. Assisting with employee reviews.
- Creating long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines
- Manages projects and removing roadblocks to meet or exceed Skymont's profit targets/goals.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Communicates with Project Manager, Subcontractors, Vendors, Contractors, and Clients to ensure the project is always moving forward.
- Delegating tasks on the project to employees best positioned to complete them.
- Making effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project.
- Serving as a point of contact for teams when multiple units are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy.
- Communicating with executives or the board to keep the project aligned with their goals.
- Performing quality control on the project throughout development to maintain the standards expected.
- Adjusting schedules and targets on the project as needed.
- Ability to adapt to quickly changing conditions and situations.
- Retrieve answers and clarifications to all questions relating to the projects and timelines.
- Be able to work in a high stress environment while maintaining a professional attitude.
- Documents correspondence and pertinent information.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
- Coordinates with Office and Fleet Manager any maintenance and equipment purchases or repairs as needed.
- Reviews billing for accuracy.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing and working in adverse weather conditions.
- Travel and 100% on site work.
