Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Company Car Hauler Driver to join our logistics team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely transporting company vehicles, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, and other specialized freight. Your expertise in commercial truck driving and adherence to safety regulations will ensure timely deliveries across various routes. Duties
- Safely operate a variety of commercial vehicles including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, and tankers in accordance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards
- Load and unload vehicles using manual handling techniques or equipment such as forklifts, ensuring proper cargo securement and compliance with hazardous materials regulations when applicable
- Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems to meet delivery schedules while optimizing fuel efficiency
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections on all vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns
- Document all deliveries accurately, including mileage logs, cargo details, and delivery confirmations in compliance with logistics protocols
- Follow all safety procedures related to hazardous materials and dangerous goods transportation when applicable
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route changes, delays, or issues encountered during transit
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, specifically with tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, or tanker trucks
- Familiarity with route driving and logistics cargo handling across diverse delivery environments
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) requirements, and hazardous materials regulations
- Hands-on experience with manual transmission trucks and manual handling of freight or cargo
- Ability to operate GPS navigation systems confidently for efficient route planning
- Delivery driver experience involving load & unload procedures using forklifts or other equipment when necessary
- Demonstrated understanding of safety protocols related to dangerous goods transportation and vehicle inspections
