Job Summary
Respond to breakdowns and motor vehicle crashes for the general public and public agencies. Understand company policies for protecting, securing, and storing vehicles. Load and unload damaged vehicles using methods that prevent further damage to customer cars or company equipment, working as required and on call when scheduled. Familiarize yourself with the documentation, information, and privacy of customer information. Estimated number of hours scheduled per week: 40-65 hours, Monday through Sunday. The typical schedule is 4 days on, 3 days off. Must live in the Coos Bay area.
Responsibilities
- Operate tow trucks and other vehicles safely and efficiently to transport disabled or improperly parked vehicles.
- Load and unload vehicles onto flatbed tow trucks while ensuring minimal damage.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their vehicle's condition and the towing process.
- Manage conflicts professionally, addressing customer concerns and complaints in a calm manner.
- Maintain accurate records of services provided and any necessary documentation related to the towing process.
- Conduct routine inspections of tow trucks to ensure they are in good working condition, reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
- Assist with minor mechanical repairs as needed, utilizing automotive repair knowledge.
Skills
- Strong understanding of automotive diagnostics and mechanical knowledge.
- Experience with manual transmission vehicles and commercial driving regulations.
- Proficient in operating tow trucks, flatbed trucks, and forklifts safely.
- Excellent conflict management skills to handle challenging customer interactions effectively.
- Ability to perform basic automotive repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Strong driving skills with a clean driving record.
- Exceptional customer service abilities, ensuring a positive experience for clients during stressful situations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.60 - $32.00 per hour
