This position is primarily responsible for teaching graduate courses in nursing and advising students in the MSN and DNP programs. Also, maintain full faculty involvement in University, College, School, and professional service. Contribute to the nursing body of knowledge through personal and collaborative scholarship. Effective leadership skills and the ability to work collegially in a group of dedicated graduate faculty is required. Assistant/Associate/Professor positions will be required to teach 12 semester hours per semester (or 24 semester hours per AY).
In Class Teaching Percentage Online Teaching Percentage Minimum Qualifications
1. An earned graduate degree in nursing or related field.
2. PhD in nursing or related field.
3. An active, unencumbered Alabama registered nurse license, or a
multistate registered nurse license issued by a party state.
4. Academic and experiential qualifications to teach in the area assigned.
5. A minimum of at least three years of employment as a registered nurse.
6. National Certification as an APRN (Family NP).
Preferred Qualifications
1. Graduate teaching experience.
2. Dual APRN Certification (Psychiatric Mental Health NP).
3. Teaching experience in nursing education.
4. Experience with online course delivery.
5. Evidence of scholarship.
