FDY, Inc., a food service management company, located at The Charlotte Doulas Internation Airport, is seeking both full time and part time applicants for our Grounded In Charlotte Full Service Restaurant. Grounded In Charlotte is a vibrant restaurant destination that prides itself on quality products and exceptional customer service. Create an exceptional first impression by welcoming guests, accurately taking and processing orders, and ensuring a fast, seamless service experience. You will operate the POS with precision, coordinate with the kitchen for timely fulfillment, and maintain a clean, organized, guest-ready counter and retail areas always.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Guest Service Sales

Greet every guest warmly; engage proactively to answer questions and guide choices.

Explain menu items, ingredients, and dietary options; make thoughtful recommendations.

Upsell add-ons (beverages, sides, desserts) to enhance experience and increase check average.

Resolve guest concerns quickly and professionally; escalate to management when needed.
Order Entry Fulfillment

Enter orders accurately into the POS; confirm details (mods, allergens, special requests).

Coordinate with the kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate order preparation.

Assemble, verify, and properly package to-go orders; label clearly and include required disposables.

Manage pickup shelves and handoffs for online orders and third-party delivery drivers.

Call out order numbers/names and maintain orderly, efficient handoff at the counter.
Cash Handling Transactions

Process cash, credit, gift cards, and digital payments accurately and securely.

Open/close cash drawers, reconcile tills, and follow all cash-handling policies.

Record comps/voids per policy and always maintain transaction accuracy.
Cleanliness, Stocking Station Readiness

Keep the counter, displays, pickup areas, and beverage stations clean, organized, and guest-ready.

Maintain par levels for condiments, utensils, napkins, cups/lids, and retail items; restock proactively.

Complete opening/closing checklists; and assist in cleaning as assigned.
Food Safety Compliance

Follow food safety and hygiene standards (handwashing, glove use, temperature and cross-contact controls).

Adhere to allergen protocols and communicate allergen information accurately.

Comply with company policies and local health-department regulations.
Teamwork Communication

Communicate clearly with kitchen, expo, and fellow team members to maintain smooth service flow.

Monitor when items are unavailable, should be removed from the menu, changes, and timing updates promptly.

Support teammates during peak volume and assist other areas as needed.

Actively maintain an efficient, positive restaurant culture by modeling respectful communication, consistent professionalism, and supportive team behavior.

Perform additional tasks assigned by management to support overall restaurant operations.
Technology Tools

Operate POS and handheld devices efficiently; troubleshoot basic issues and request help when needed.

Monitor online ordering platforms and reconcile orders with in-house systems.
QUALIFICATIONS

Able to stand and walk for extended periods and lift/move moderate weights (e.g., cases or trays).

Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Food Handler Certificate (or ability to obtain).

Must pass required TSA security background check

High school degree or equivalency required

Prior customer service or food service experience preferred, not required.
