Transportation Planning and Operations Coordinator

Position Summary
Responsible for Pickup Service and Linehaul Transportation planning, route planning, daily operations, shipment monitoring, data analysis, and exception handling. This role requires frequent communication with warehouses, drivers, carriers, and internal teams, with strong ownership in identifying, reporting, resolving, and closing operational issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan daily Pickup Service routes and Linehaul Transportation schedules based on shipment volume, pallet count, time windows, vehicle capacity, and transit requirements.
- Coordinate closely with warehouses, drivers, carriers, and transportation partners on vehicle availability, dock assignments, loading, departure, arrival, and freight handoff.
- Monitor emails, messages, system notifications, and transportation status in real time; handle delays, missed pickups, vehicle shortages, late departures, and other exceptions.
- Maintain accurate BOL, POD, route, vehicle, shipment, status, and transportation cost records.
- Use Excel, Google Sheets, Python, and Google Colab for data processing, reporting, route planning, and operational analysis.
- Analyze route efficiency, vehicle utilization, transit performance, shipment volume, and transportation costs; identify data errors and recurring operational issues.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve existing Python scripts, route-planning tools, and automated reports.
- Summarize issues clearly, including impact, current status, solution, owner, and next steps; escalate when needed and follow through until closure.
- Support new routes, customers, stations, transportation partners, and operational projects.
Required Qualifications
- Fluent in both English and Mandarin, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, Google Colab, and basic computer applications; working knowledge of Python and Pandas.
- Strong mathematical reasoning, data sensitivity, analytical thinking, and route-planning skills.
- Strong communication and coordination skills in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
- Strong problem-solving, issue-summary, reporting, and follow-up skills; able to take ownership and drive issues to closure.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate operational records.
- Able to support rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays based on operational needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Pickup Service, Linehaul Transportation, dispatch, route planning, fleet coordination, or logistics operations.
- Experience maintaining or debugging Python scripts and automated reporting tools.
- Knowledge of BOL, POD, linehaul, backhaul, vehicle assignment, capacity planning, and transportation cost analysis.
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations Research, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
