Responsibilities
- Assist with planting, cultivating, irrigating, and harvesting crops using various farm machinery and hand tools.
- Provide daily care for livestock and animals, including feeding, watering, grooming, and monitoring health.
- Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts and other farm machinery safely and efficiently.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, including welding and basic mechanical troubleshooting.
- Support irrigation systems setup and management to ensure optimal water distribution for crops.
- Handle animal husbandry tasks such as cleaning enclosures, assisting with breeding programs, and ensuring proper animal handling procedures are followed.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, storage facilities, greenhouses, and animal pens to promote a safe environment.
- Assist with general farm upkeep including fencing repairs, equipment inspections, and seasonal planting or harvesting activities.
Qualifications
- Prior experience would be helpful
- Mechanical knowledge or experience with farm machinery, power tools, welding, or equipment repair is highly desirable.
- Ability to operate forklifts and heavy equipment safely; certification is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with farming techniques, horticulture practices, greenhouse operations, or irrigation systems is beneficial.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to planting schedules or feed rations.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, stand for extended periods, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
