Texas Land Surveying is currently looking for a Rodman to join our field team.

As a Rodman, you'll work alongside experienced survey professionals and gain hands-on training on projects across Central Texas, including Boundary Surveys, Title Surveys, Form Surveys, Final Surveys, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, Plats, Topographic Surveys, Construction Staking, and Right of Way Surveys.

Position Description
This position performs general field duties as part of a survey crew, working under the direction of the Crew Chief. Employees in this role assist in collecting accurate field data, setting up and operating survey equipment, and maintaining a safe, productive job site.
Essential Duties
- Assist the Crew Chief in setting up and operating survey instruments such as robotic total stations, GPS receivers, levels, and data collectors.
- Carry, set, and hold survey rods, prism poles, stakes, and other field equipment.
- Help clear line of sight and access to survey points, including light brush clearing as needed.
- Assist in locating and setting boundary markers, control points, and stakes.
- Maintain field equipment, ensuring it is clean, organized, and in good working condition.
- Follow all job site safety procedures and wear required PPE.
- Perform other job responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: No prior surveying experience required; prior experience is preferred but not necessary. We provide on-the-job training for the right candidate.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and terrain, including walking, standing, and carrying equipment for extended periods.
- Willingness to learn survey instruments, terminology, and field procedures.
- Possess good social skills, and effective written and oral communication skills.
- Attendance, punctuality, and reliability are essential requirements.
- Valid Driver's License with an insurable driving record.
- Background check required.
Compensation
- Salary Range: $20 - $30/hour, depending on prior experience.

Work Schedule
40 Hours per week - overtime available per prior approval.
While some projects may take you beyond 35 miles from the office, our crews are not expected to travel for extended periods — you'll be home every night.
