TRC Talent Solutions is seeking a Senior Accountant for a leading structural engineering firm in Atlanta, GA. Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing general ledger activities, account reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable support, financial reporting, and project accounting activities. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting knowledge, a detail-oriented mindset, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
- Prepare, review, and post journal entries in accordance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules.
- Manage accounts receivable activities, including invoicing, collections support, and account reconciliations.
- Monitor aging reports and assist in resolving outstanding receivable and payable balances.
- Collaborate with project accountants to support project financial activities and reporting requirements.
- Assist with project financial analysis, project closeouts, and validation of project financial data.
- Prepare and record equity transactions, acquisition-related entries, and other complex accounting activities.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner.
- Support annual audits by preparing schedules and providing requested documentation.
- Assist with accounting system implementations, process improvements, and special projects as assigned.
- Partner with leadership to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting efficiency.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry.
- General Accounting: Strong experience with general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end and year-end close processes.
- Financial Reporting: Experience preparing financial statements, management reports, and supporting analyses.
- GAAP Knowledge: Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- ERP Systems: Experience working with accounting and ERP systems such as Acumatica, Deltek Ajera, Deltek Vantagepoint, or similar platforms.
- Technical Skills: Strong Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyze and organize financial data.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally across the organization.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
