Your Role as a Land Acquisition Analyst
As a Land Acquisition Analyst, you'll support Thompson Thrift's Development team by researching, evaluating, and analyzing land opportunities for future multifamily communities. Working under the guidance of experienced development professionals, you'll assist with market research, financial modeling, due diligence, and site analysis to help determine the feasibility and value of potential acquisitions.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct market research and analyze demographic, economic, and competitive market data to identify potential development opportunities.
- Assist with due diligence activities for prospective land acquisitions.
- Gather and analyze information related to zoning, entitlements, market conditions, and financial feasibility.
- Build and maintain financial models used to evaluate development opportunities.
- Analyze land values within target markets using financial and market data.
- Prepare reports and presentations for company leadership, investors, and lending partners.
- Support development team members throughout the land acquisition and underwriting process.
- Assist in evaluating potential multifamily development sites using established company performance metrics.
- Travel to project sites and meetings with internal and external stakeholders as needed to support land acquisition and development activities.
Our Ideal Candidate for this Role
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or a related field.
Experience
- This is an entry-level position; no prior professional experience is required.
- Internship experience or previous exposure to commercial real estate, development, finance, or market research is highly preferred.
Skills & Attributes
- Understanding of financial concepts and key performance metrics related to commercial real estate and multifamily development.
- Knowledge of economic indicators and their impact on real estate valuation.
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
