Computer Technician II - Building: District Service Center
The position of a Computer Technician II is now open. Please note the job description is attached. This is a 12 month – 260 days at 40 hours per week.

JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Computer Technician II
DEPARTMENT: Technology
CLASSIFICATION: Computer Technician II
RESPONSIBLE TO: Technology and Systems Manager
LENGTH OF CONTRACT: Twelve-month contract - 260 days - total of 2080 hours per year
DESCRIPTION: Responsible for installing, maintaining and supporting technology in the district. Ensure the smooth operation of computer equipment in order to provide maximum performance and availability for their users.
QUALIFICATION: High School Diploma or GED Experience required
GENERAL DUTIES:

Works cooperatively with building level administrators.

Helps to oversee the preservation of district computers and equipment.

Works with staff to promote the proper use and care of equipment.

Receives, inspects, and tests equipment and software.

Installs network wiring and connections.

Provides technical support and training to help students and staff operate hardware and software.

Answers basic trouble calls and emails in a timely manner.

Communicates proactively with Marion City staff members.

Helps with development and maintenance of district computer inventory.

Assists Technology and Systems Manager with technology based purchasing.

Assumes additional responsibility without being asked.

Assists Technology and Systems Manager with all other related duties, as assigned.
NOTE:
The above lists are not ranked in order of importance.
CONDUCT:
Each staff member shall remain free of alcohol, non-prescribed controlled substances, and the abuse of prescribed controlled substances in the workplace throughout employment with the District.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
