InHarvest a premier U.S. producer and procurer of some of the world’s most distinctive grains, beans and legumes for foodservice, retail and Industrial suppliers is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic with functional knowledge and understanding of plant equipment, from receiving to shipping in both the production and packaging departments to work in our Colusa, CA facility.

Maintenance Mechanic's Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure repair and maintenance work is performed based on daily/weekly/monthly/annually work schedules. Repair and maintenance of food contact and non-food contact equipment.
- Installation of new equipment and structures.
- Responsible for repairs, installation and performance of preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Make sure tools are clean before performing working on Food Contact Equipment.
- Take inventory of all tools, nuts and bolts shall be done when maintenance is complete, to ensure nothing is left in the equipment.
- Complete the required section of the Work Order Request and Maintenance Work Order Log.
- Responsible to assist where needed in case of equipment failure, in order to minimize production down time.
- Operate fork lift and perform fork lift inspections.
- Responsible for fork lift and other vehicle repairs.
- Responsible to perform extensive repair on mill equipment. i.e. conveyors, augers, elevators, bearing etc.
- Preform Lock-Out Tag-Out procedures prior to starting a job.
- Review Maintenance Pre-Star (WA-0312) if maintenance work performed was over a potential Product Contamination Point.
Job Requirements for the Maintenance Mechanic Position:
This position requires a person experienced and/or with ability in the following:
- Experience in food manufacturing (Prefer 5 years minimum)
- Good communication skills
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
- Be familiar with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Predictive Maintenance, Five-S methodology, and Kaizen
- Have basic knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulic systems and internal combustion engines.
- Must be able to operate any tool or equipment which is common to the trade.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment or vehicle failures.
- Have knowledge to perform basic maintenance of mill equipment. i.e. replace drive belts, spice conveyor belts, change bearings, and change electric motors.
- Must be available off-schedule at times and work well with the schedule demands of a 24/7 seasonal food processing facility.
