Georgia Paraprofessional Certification required.
Preferred experience working with children with emotional/behavioral difficulties.
General Nature of Work:
Works in therapeutic classroom assisting the Teacher by giving individual attention to students and preparing materials for daily use. General supervision from the Teacher and Site coordinator.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assists Teacher in implementing therapeutic techniques for students with emotional behavioral problems.
2. Provides individualized assistance to students with learning tasks.
3. Collects materials for class and returns them after class each day.
4. Keeps classroom clean and orderly.
5. Participates in planning sessions concerning children in his/her class.
6. Participates in daily debriefing.
7. Provides support to children being served by Program in crisis situation.
8. Meets and escorts students to class when they arrive.
Qualifications and Certification:
· Minimum Education and Experience: High school graduate.
· Minimum Certification: Paraprofessional License
· Preferred Education and Experience: Two years of college and one year employment working with children.
WORK SCHEDULE: 8-hour day,190 days per year.
