Flow Control Group is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Cybersecurity Intern to join our growing cybersecurity team. This internship is designed for students or recent graduates interested in gaining real-world experience in cybersecurity operations, threat detection, vulnerability management, and security governance.
As a Cybersecurity Intern, you will work alongside experienced cybersecurity professionals and contribute to protecting FCG’s technology environment. You will gain hands-on exposure to enterprise security tools, security monitoring processes, incident response activities, and cybersecurity best practices while supporting initiatives that strengthen the organization's overall security posture.
This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop technical and professional skills while exploring a career in cybersecurity within a dynamic and rapidly growing organization.
Responsibilities:
- Review, track, and update cybersecurity-related tickets under the guidance of security team members.
- Assist with monitoring security alerts and notifications generated by security platforms.
- Support the investigation of suspicious activities and potential security incidents.
- Monitor and review user account activity for anomalous or potentially risky behavior.
- Assist in managing email and endpoint security quarantines.
- Participate in incident response activities, documentation, and post-incident reviews.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of cybersecurity documentation, procedures, and standards.
- Research emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends.
- Collaborate with IT teams and business stakeholders to support IT projects and initiatives.
- Assist with compliance and cybersecurity maturity programs, including security assessments and evidence collection activities.

Qualifications:
Required
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of networking, operating systems, and cybersecurity concepts.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows environments and common business applications.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and eagerness to learn.
Preferred
- Coursework or hands-on experience related to cybersecurity, networking, systems administration, or cloud technologies.
- Exposure to security tools such as SIEM, endpoint protection, email security, identity management, or vulnerability scanning platforms.
- Participation in cybersecurity clubs, labs, competitions, or personal projects.
- Entry-level cybersecurity certifications (e.g., ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC), CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Security certifications) are a plus.
