What to Expect
Tesla is looking for an extremely motivated Engineer to design, fabricate, install and commission custom parts and equipment. This is an R&D role that requires individuals who thrive in an ever-changing, fast paced environment. The work content of the job role will change daily as new challenges arise. This role will involve solving design problems that are identified in commissioning as well as assisting in engineering turn key solutions for next generation equipment. There is also an opportunity to conduct trials to optimize specific process elements.
What You'll Do-
Observe the production line to rapidly generate custom design fixes that increase OEE

Work with operators and maintenance technicians to improve operability

Generate CAD models and fabrication drawings

Oversee parts fabrication and inspect for quality

Generate installation and start up procedures for equipment modifications

Oversee complex installations

Ensure seamless integration of machine upgrades
What You'll Bring-
Fluency in Solidworks

Experience designing custom parts

Competency with tolerancing and GD&T

Knowledge of parts fabrication methods and limitations. Experience personally fabricating parts would be ideal.

Experience generating installation plans

Competency with power tools
