Hours: 6:30am-3:30pm, Monday through Friday No weekends or nights!
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve balanced, age-appropriate meals and snacks in accordance with dietary guidelines and nutritional standards.
- Manage daily kitchen operations, including inventory control, food production, and ensuring all food handling practices meet safety regulations.
- Collaborate with educators and caregivers to accommodate special dietary needs and allergies while maintaining menu variety.
- Supervise kitchen staff or assistants, providing leadership and guidance to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality food service.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to strict sanitation protocols and health codes.
- Monitor food quality during preparation and presentation, ensuring consistency and appealing presentation for preschool children.
- Assist with menu planning that incorporates nutritious ingredients while keeping meals engaging and fun for young learners.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in food production within a childcare, preschool, or similar setting; banquet or fine dining experience is a plus.
- Supervising or team management experience in a kitchen or hospitality environment.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards, dietary requirements, and inventory management practices.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with staff and caregivers.
- Culinary experience in catering, restaurant management, or the food industry is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with menu planning, shift management, kitchen operations, and food service management.
