We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented professional to join our team in the role of Bolting, Hydrostatic Testing, and Cold Cutting Specialist. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on critical mechanical and safety procedures within our manufacturing or maintenance operations. You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and safety of piping systems through precise bolting techniques, rigorous hydrostatic testing, and cold cutting processes. Your expertise will help maintain high standards of quality, compliance with industry codes, and operational efficiency. Responsibilities
- Perform bolting and unbolting procedures using hand tools, torque wrenches, and specialized equipment to ensure secure connections in piping systems.
- Conduct hydrostatic testing by pressurizing systems with water or other fluids to verify integrity and detect leaks, following established safety protocols.
- Execute cold cutting operations safely and accurately using appropriate tools such as saws or plasma cutters, minimizing heat-affected zones.
- Adhere to ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) codes & standards during all testing and assembly activities to ensure compliance with industry regulations.
- Collect data during testing processes, documenting pressure readings, inspection results, and any anomalies for quality control records.
- Perform quality inspections and assurance checks on components using measurement tools like calipers, micrometers, and schematics to verify specifications.
- Support non-destructive testing (NDT) methods such as ultrasonic or magnetic particle inspection to assess material integrity without damaging parts.
- Utilize schematics and technical drawings for assembly, troubleshooting, and verifying correct installation procedures.
- Maintain a clean work environment by properly handling hand tools, measuring instruments, and safety equipment throughout all operations.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in manufacturing or maintenance environments involving piping systems or pressure vessels.
- Proficiency in surface mount technology (SMT) is a plus for working with electronic components related to testing equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail for quality control and assurance tasks; capable of analyzing test data accurately.
- Familiarity with ASME codes & standards relevant to pressure testing, piping, and safety regulations.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, calipers, micrometers, and soldering equipment for assembly or repairs.
- Ability to interpret schematics, technical drawings, and specifications effectively for precise execution of tasks.
- Experience in non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques to evaluate material integrity without causing damage.
