Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Precision Grinder specializing in ID/OD, Surface, Blanchard, and Centerless grinding processes. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with precision machining techniques and a strong understanding of manufacturing standards. This role involves operating advanced grinding equipment to produce high-quality components with tight tolerances, supporting our manufacturing operations in delivering superior products. Candidates should possess a solid foundation in mechanical knowledge, blueprint reading, and precision measurement to ensure the highest quality standards are met.
Responsibilities
- Operate and set up various grinding machines including ID/OD grinders, surface grinders, Blanchard grinders, and centerless grinders to produce precision parts.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining requirements.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and other gauges to inspect parts for accuracy and quality.
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of grinding equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Adjust machine settings based on measurement feedback to achieve specified tolerances.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality assurance teams to troubleshoot machining issues and improve processes.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment following safety protocols and best practices in manufacturing.
- Document production activities accurately for quality control records.
Requirements
- Proven experience in precision grinding processes including ID/OD, surface, Blanchard, and centerless grinding.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in CNC laser cutting, CNC programming, electrical discharge machining, plasma cutting, press brake machines, CNC lathe, stamping presses, CNC milling machines, welding, and fabrication techniques is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other quality inspection tools.
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations related to machining tolerances.
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards.
- Experience operating hand tools, tooling setups, cranes, forklifts (preferred), and sheet metal fabrication equipment is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality assurance in manufacturing processes.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
