Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High-school diploma or national equivalent from an accredited institution is required; college degree is preferred.
- Experience working with individuals with autism and their families is preferred.
- Must pass state and federal background checks.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain safe and appropriate handling procedures when working with clients.
- Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA laws.
- Abide by the code of ethics as published by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment including sanitizing toys, work surfaces, and seats as necessary.
- Maintain a professional appearance regarding clothing, grooming, hair, and make-up.
- Ability to interact with co-workers, caregivers, clients, and supervisors in a respectful and professional manner.
- Ability to multi-task and take descriptive and accurate documentation.
- Ability to use strategy and make quick intelligent decisions.
- Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations with the student that may occur at the clinic.
- Ability to problem solve as well as respond to in a proactive and professional manner.
- Ability to follow all prescribed treatment plans including but not limited to those developed for children who may engage in aggressive behaviors.
- Ability to follow all prescribed toileting and self-help skills protocols such as dressing and tooth brushing.
- Must be able to read and comprehend written communication through computer, electronic devices, and paper means.
- Must be able to receive detailed information through oral communication.
- Must be able to perform specific computer and electronic device functions for data collection.
- Must be able to collect, record, and summarize the data on client behavior as prescribed by the licensed, board-certified behavior analyst.
- Must be able to accurately complete, record, and summarize data on client behavior as prescribed by the licensed, board-certified behavior analyst.
- Must be able to accept constructive feedback and develop skill sets accordingly.
- Must be able to acquire and maintain technical knowledge by attending required training.
- Actively participate in supervision sessions with a supervisor which may include individual, small group, and large group settings.
- Must complete required training course including teaching methods, policies and procedures, ethics, safety, and other topics.
- Must acquire and maintain all required certifications including, but not limited to: CPR, Registered Line Technician certification through the Louisiana Behavior Analyst Board, and Registered Behavior Technician certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
