Position Overview
HiveCo has a contract opportunity with our client in Columbus for a Procurement Specialist to support a busy Purchasing Services team by managing procurement transactions, preparing service agreements, and providing exceptional support to internal business partners. This role is ideal for someone with procurement or purchasing experience who enjoys working in a collaborative, customer-focused environment while ensuring procurement activities are completed accurately and efficiently.
The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for processing purchase requests, preparing agreements and amendments, collaborating with internal stakeholders, and supporting procurement operations through strong analytical and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Review purchase requests and determine the appropriate procurement method based on company policies and business needs.
- Prepare and execute service agreements, work authorizations, and other procurement documents for outside vendors.
- Draft amendments and change orders to existing agreements.
- Partner with internal business units to ensure procurement requests are completed accurately and efficiently.
- Collaborate with Legal, Risk Management, and other departments to ensure contracts protect company interests.
- Provide outstanding customer service by responding to procurement inquiries via phone, email, and direct requests.
- Investigate and resolve procurement-related issues, escalating complex matters when appropriate.
- Maintain positive relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
- Support procurement reporting, operational metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Partner with other procurement teams on sourcing events, projects, and process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field OR four (4) years of relevant procurement or service center experience.
- Minimum of two (2) years of procurement, purchasing, customer service, or related experience.
- Experience creating or managing procurement agreements, purchase requests, or service contracts.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with procurement or purchasing systems.
- Understanding of procurement processes, policies, and contract administration.
- Experience working with legal, risk management, or vendor management teams.
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to build productive business relationships.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and establish credibility across cross-functional teams.
- Experience supporting procurement metrics, reporting, or operational improvements.
